Proactive asset management
In today’s increasingly commercial and regulated world, organisations must keep close track of their assets and find ways to manage them much more efficiently. Rather than traditional fixed-interval maintenance, our customers are finding that it is more effective to measure and track the condition of particular components over time, and from this to develop an optimum maintenance profile, based on a detailed knowledge of the risk levels of their assets.
Operating proactively is therefore the most effective way to ensure your assets are performing at their best. Instead of relying on static plans made ahead of time, you can save money and fine tune your operation by setting up monitoring systems that determine the condition, status and whereabouts of your key assets. With that information you can rapidly control them in anticipation of, or in response to, customer demand, deterioration or other real time triggers.
We call this approach proactive asset management (PAM). Logica has proven experience in PAM across a range of industry sectors, and our domain knowledge is complemented both by our own software and a deep understanding of third-party tools and maturing technologies like radio frequency identification (RFID). We have implemented a wide range of supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA) and process control systems, which display key real time metrics and performance information from across an entire network of operations.
