Logica appoints ex-Unisys executive as Chief Executive, Outsourcing Services
Logica, the European IT and business services company, has appointed Jean-Marc Lazzari into the position of Chief Executive, Outsourcing Services. He will also join Logica’s Executive Committee. In line with our plan to create a truly European organisation, he will be based in Paris.
Previously vice-president and general manager of Unisys Continental Europe, Lazzari will be responsible for Logica’s global Outsourcing Services business which operates in 10 countries and employs 9,000 people. The division takes end-to-end responsibility for outsourcing services, ensuring that customers have access to the most efficient and cost effective blend of onshore, nearshore and offshore support.
In his previous role at Unisys Lazzari was responsible for the company’s full Continental European portfolio. He drove the turnaround transformation that brought the region back to profitable growth. This included the introduction of a strong matrix organisation, which allowed the company to operate effectively across its 17 European countries, and a special focus on securing a number of transformational outsourcing deals. Prior to this, Lazzari was head of IBM’s Global HR solutions practice and vice president of IBM’s Business Consulting Services for the EMEA West region. These businesses achieved consistent above-market growth while successfully integrating organisations such as the consulting practice of PriceWaterhouseCoopers, blending consulting with systems integration and outsourcing.
Commenting on Jean-Marc Lazzari’s appointment, Andy Green, CEO of Logica, said:
“I’m delighted to welcome Jean-Marc to the Logica team. It’s an exciting time for us as we execute the programme for growth we set out in April. Jean-Marc’s personal drive and deep experience of the European outsourcing services market will be invaluable to us as we grow the newly-established Outsourcing Services division, an important component of our strategy.”
Jean-Marc Lazzari, Chief Executive-designate, Outsourcing Services, said:
“There is no better time to join Logica than now as it sets out on its programme for growth. Logica is a truly European company with strong local presence supported by excellent global delivery. It has leading technical and industry knowledge and a growing consulting capability, all of which are important ingredients as we set out to increase the business value that clients can gain from strategic outsourcing. I am certain that my experience of business transformation will be invaluable as I work with the rest of the team to transform Logica.”
Lazzari will join Logica in late August and will report to Logica’s CEO, Andy Green. He will replace Jim McKenna. As previously announced, McKenna will leave Logica in the second half of the year to pursue a portfolio of interests.
