13 November 2008

Logica has appointed Stephen Kelly as its Group HR Director and a member of its Executive Committee. Kelly joins from the BBC where he is currently Director, BBC People, and a member of the BBC’s Executive Board.

Stephen will join Logica in the New Year and have responsibility for rolling out the people element of the company’s business strategy announced in April this year.  This includes ensuring cultural integration across the business, leading the company’s group-wide HR practice and implementing the right HR back office and people processes to support Logica’s business strategy.

At the BBC, Stephen’s responsibilities included the provision of strategic and operational HR services across the UK and internationally, including training and development and safety. Prior to this he was Chief HR Officer at BT Global Services where he drove the HR agenda for more than 33,000 people worldwide and led BT’s integration practice across the globe. Before joining BT, Stephen led HR functions in National Provident Institution (NPI), Balfour Beatty and British Rail.

“We are delighted that Stephen Kelly is joining the executive team at Logica. His extensive international people and change management experience will be of real benefit as we implement the Programme for Growth. Stephen's last two roles have shown how skilled he is at nurturing innovation in teams and individuals. His approach is a great cultural fit for Logica and we all look forward to working with him,” said Andy Green, Logica CEO.

“I’m joining Logica at a very exciting time and am very much looking forward to helping further cultivate a dynamic working environment for all Logica’s people.  I will be supporting the business strategy by ensuring that the right incentives and processes are in place to empower Logica’s talented people around the world,” said Stephen Kelly.

Stephen is a member of the Institute of Directors, Institute of Personnel Development and Institute of Payroll and Pensions Management. He is also a Director of Devonshire House and a member of the Editorial Advisory Board of People Management.
