Logica signs agreement with Swedish Defence through NESP
Network Enabling System Partner (NESP) has signed an agreement with FMV (Swedish Defence Materiel Administration) to deliver support to the development of a new management system for the Swedish Defence, which is part of the creation of the network based defence of the future. NESP is equally owned by Logica, Generic, BnearIT, Peter Johnsson IT-konsult and Centric Labs. The new agreement covers one year with a possibility of extension for another two years. The total value is estimated to approximately SEK 200 million.
The new management system will set the requirements for the technology which is to support the connection of the management functions and systems which will be part of the network based defence. The new system is a prerequisite for storing and accessing information in a coordinated way and for making information available to many users.
NESP, with five owners and 40 sub-contractors, will support FMV with resources and competence in the development of phase three of the new management system of the Swedish Defence. The assignment covers the continuous development of conceptual solutions including supporting framework and technical design rules, support of the realization and production of the management system as well as the participation in a number of national and international experiments.

The project commences at the beginning of June 2008.
