InBev chose to move away from country-by-country operations and follow a global strategy to drive profit and sustainable growth. Its strategy provided an operational roadmap that would deliver its vision of going from 'Biggest to Best' - essentially growing volume ahead of the industry, growing revenue ahead of volume and keeps costs below inflation. To help fulfil its vision InBev contracted Logica as its strategic partner in application management.
Logica signed an initial €70million, five-year contract with InBev in June 2006. This contract covered management of the company's European and global headquarters' application services and its western European applications spanning eight major markets in Europe. The success of the project led InBev to extend application services outsourcing to cover central and eastern Europe at the end of the year.
