One Young Logica
Investment in 'developing exceptional people' is not just for Logica’s senior people – we also want to harness the potential of our youngest talent. This helps them to continue growing and creates positive change inside Logica.
We believe in harnessing the energy and enthusiasm of some of the youngest talent within Logica by providing them with opportunities to widen their skills and experiences. In 2011, five graduates from across the business attended the One Young World (OYW) Conference in Switzerland. OYW brought together 1,200 potential business leaders under the age of 25 from 170 countries to create change on a global level. The delegates tackled global issues such as the role of business in society; transparency in business and government; the impact of climate change; global health and hunger relief. Having heard inspirational speeches from Counsellors such as Bob Geldof, Desmond Tutu and Paul Polman, our Logica representatives spent time with other OYW delegates from around the world, sharing examples of how they and the organisations they represent, contribute to making positive change in their communities.
Our delegates returned to their countries inspired and motivated to galvanise colleagues - leveraging Logica’s resources and expertise to make a positive difference. Since returning, one delegate in Finland has helped organize a corporate responsibility event with about 70 young people participating. They discussed the well-being of our employees, reduction of the environmental foot-print and improved services to help our clients to act in a more sustainable way with local country management. Another delegate is bringing renewed vigour to a programme in India, where Logica provides lessons and IT equipment to a local school that otherwise would not be able to have Information Communication Technology on the curriculum.
