2011 Winners
‘Won’derful 2011!
2011 saw our global panel choosing two winners- UK based Embarcadero Technologies and Sweden based Vergic AB. Embarcadero Technologies turns Windows desktop software into easily sharable mobile-like apps within the business environment. Vergic won the award for their “ps plugin’ solution, a sales and customer service tool.
The Embarcadero AppWave solution converts software into AppWave Apps that are broadcast. So you can access them from wherever you are. Users do not need to worry about installing software. Instead, they have one-click access to the applications they need.
Vergic’s product ‘ps plugin’ is a tool that takes e-commerce and customer service to the next level. Customer retention - that’s what the tool achieves. When customers experience problems in the buying process, the tool provides support. “ps plugin” transforms any website into a real-time interaction sales tool. So there’s person-to-person interaction like in reality.
The 2011 GIVP country winners were:
- Klab (Portugal) - Klab, s.a. is an innovation and metrics company that supplies enterprise management solutions. They provide innovative real-time business tools that improve organisational performance and customer loyalty. Their vision - lead the way of science-to-the-market through innovative business first-hand metrics worldwide.
- Sophia (joint winner along with Embarcadero, UK) simplifies data search. The explosion of volumes of data – add to that multiple types of data such as text, audio and video. It’s an indication that search is an increasingly important aspect for any organisation or public safety body. We found Sophia Search to be a great complementary technology to some of our own intellectual property. Something that would help us change the rules of the game.
- Proxem (France) helps organisations improve their performance in implementing Semantic Web technologies and Language Processing. Consumers express views both on the services or products provided on key events (legal, social among others) or on the image a business conveys (e-reputation). Such feedback is directly sent through email or posted on blogs and forums. Using semantic analysis and business intelligence techniques, ‘Proxemics’ consolidates into a single vision. It provides companies a daily barometer, allowing for continuous improvement and anticipation of crises.
- ICT Standard Forum (Finland) delivers a business-aligned framework and practical tools for professional ICT management. ICT Standard Forum functions via a web community with users all over the world. The ‘ICT Standard for Management’ is free to use with an open source principle.
