LAPS was chosen as it is able to significantly increase efficiencies through very-high straight through processing (STP) levels. LAPS also proved the most advanced solution available in supporting traditional domestic payments instruments, as well as Scts and SDDs – enabling Deutsche Bank to bridge both the existing payments world and the new one.

Standard Bank
Standard Bank required a new payment hub that could be used for all their corporate and investment banking payments, in order to provide common payment features to multiple areas of the bank together with centralized control, monitoring and traceability. Specific challenges included:

  • Multi-entity and multi-currency environment
  • Interface to legacy systems with varying degrees of in-built and business-specific payment functionality
  • Need to consolidate and progressively renovate current payment functionality allowing legacy systems to be replaced or retired
  • Business continuity of the critical, core payments processes of the bank

They needed a solution that could be extended to a full global payments hub capable of future extension to support retail payments.
