Logica runs Test Centre for Volvo Car Corporation

Extended commitment to functional test services for IT.

Logica, a leading IT and business services company, has received a contract extension from Volvo Car Corporation to test its IT applications and systems. In line with its ambition to ensure a high quality of applications and systems and to achieve cost efficiency, Volvo Cars has centralised its testing activities in a Test Centre in Gothenburg, Sweden. Logica has been responsible for the delivery of test services from this Test Centre for a year now. Following an initial delivery of services for performance testing, Logica’s responsibility has now been extended to include comprehensive test services within the area of functional testing.

By centralising and standardising its testing operations and by procuring testing as a well defined service, Volvo Cars is able to reach its objectives of cost efficiency and a large proportion of automated testing.

Logica’s location in Gothenburg, in close proximity to Volvo Car’s site, is important for a close working relationship. Test services for Volvo Cars will be delivered from both Gothenburg and other countries as part of Logica’s blended sourcing model, which combines onshore, nearshore and offshore resources.

Within Logica, more than 3,000 employees work professionally within the field of testing. Logica has published the books TestGrip, Successful Test Management and TestFrame, all about strategic testing.
