Logica global leader on CDP leadership index for third consecutive year
The Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), representing 534 institutional investors with $64 trillion in assets under management, has commended Logica for its approach to climate change disclosure and carbon management performance.
For a third consecutive year Logica is the only business and technology service company to feature in the CDP’s “Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index”. Logica has improved its performance on the Index by 10 points and is now in the top five of all IT companies globally.
Craig Boundy, CEO, Logica UK, who will be presenting at the UK launch of the CDP’s global report on 8th October, commented: “Being recognised as a global leader in IT services on the CDP’s Leadership Index is an achievement we are really proud of. But what we get excited about and where the real potential for our business to help the environment lies is through the sustainability services we deliver our clients. Sustainable commercial opportunities present a tremendous opportunity to reinforce global economic recovery, improve energy security and tackle climate change. The development of decarbonised energy sectors, new breeds of sustainability products and services, and the opening of new sources of employment and exports represent the pathway to these goals.”
Paul Dickinson, Executive Chairman of the Carbon Disclosure Project, commented: “The Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index recognises companies that demonstrate good internal data management practices for understanding greenhouse gas emissions, including energy use. Companies that make this index have also demonstrated clear consideration of how climate change is and will impact their business. As companies’ understanding of climate change issues grows, they are better placed to take positive action to manage and mitigate its risks.”
