Logica’s systems provide the backbone for the roll out of 10,000 e-car charging stations in the Netherlands

In cooperation with the Dutch e-laad.nl foundation company, Logica will lay down the national infrastructure necessary to roll out 10,000 charging stations for electric cars in the Netherlands. This infrastructure will be the backbone for a range of services that will be developed for clients using the charging stations. Motorists will get easy, quick and national access to the stations as well as access to a fast and efficient payment system for the services rendered.

The E-laad.nl foundation is a cooperation of Dutch energy grid companies which aims to stimulate the use of electric cars. The foundation will collect essential data needed for future energy grid investments. The charging infrastructure is open to different types of suppliers who want to service motorists.

Logica delivers the back office system that E-laad.nl will be using to maintain the 10,000 charging stations and process transactions. In an earlier stage of the project, Logica had developed a similar back office system in a successful trial and also developed the charging stations’ software.
