Logica to deliver new license management system for oil and gas operators on the Norwegian Continental Shelf
EPIM - the Exploration and Production Information Management Association - has selected Logica Norway to implement and operate a license management system for oil and gas fields on the Norwegian Continental Shelf (NCS).
EPIM and Logica have signed a three-year contract with an option to extend for an additional four years. The contract includes system integration and outsourcing services related to the second-generation LicenseWeb and AuthorityWeb platform for oil and gas operators on the NCS.
The new system will be used by 75 operators and partners, as well as Norwegian authorities, and includes applications for publishing and reporting, workflow and approval documentation, archive functions and e-learning for end users.
Under the contract, Logica will migrate data from the current EPIM solution to the new system, providing system integration and hosting services. In addition, Logica will offer user support services from its office in Stavanger. Logica will partner with Contesto for application services and with Open Text, a Canadian based software provider. Logica has about 800 employees in Norway, 180 of them in Stavanger.
Comments Ove Ryland, managing director of EPIM: “Logica combines local competence, international expertise and valuable experience in the oil and gas industry to deliver comprehensive end-to-end solutions. Working with us, Logica will develop a new enterprise content management system that will provide security, availability and flexibility to meet not only the current needs but future demands of NCS operators and authorities.”
EPIM has been established to provide high-quality IT solutions to facilitate the best possible flow of information among oil and gas operators as well as relevant authorities. All operators on the NCS are required to use EPIM’s document system for license data throughout the lifespan of the oil and gas fields.
“We are very excited about this opportunity to work with EPIM and its operators and partners,” says Jørgen Espeland, head of Logica’s oil and gas division.
“Logica has extensive experience in the oil and gas industry, both in Norway and internationally,” Espeland says, adding that Logica, from its new offices in Hinna Park, Stavanger, will be able to serve oil and gas customers with such services as HSEQ, Multifunctional Shared Services, Application Management as well as Information Management.
