1 + 1 = Innovation
Shopping for applications at work should be just as easy as it is at home. That’s the concept our latest Global Innovation Venture Partner brings to our clients.
The UK’s Embarcadero Technologies was one of two winners of Logica’s Global Innovation Venture Partner (GIVP) programme this year, alongside Sweden’s Vergic AB. Embarcadero Technologies won with their AppWave solution which is a new technology that delivers Windows-based applications to the browser with a mobile feel. This technology brings the business desktop into the 21st century, allowing clients to better track how applications are being used in their businesses. AppWave is now part of our Global Portfolio Catalogue, installed in our innovation centres across the globe and is resonating with our clients as they look to tackle the challenges of meeting the demands of consumerisation of IT in the workplace.
Embarcadero is a great example for collaboration and co-innovation principles that are at the base of a flourishing ecosystem. Our GIVP programme is all about identifying innovation and partnering to create value which is beneficial to both Logica and the winners. It identifies companies with innovative products and solutions which add value to Logica’s work with our clients and provide winners with a more global go-to-market strategy, helping them grow their business. In 2011 the programme was run in seven countries – UK, Sweden, Finland, France, Netherlands, Portugal and India.
Past winners have included Autonomy and Swedish innovation company Appear Networks with whom we implemented a new rail management solution for the subsidiary of a large Swedish rail operator which operates train services in the south of Stockholm.
