Logica opens Norway innovation centre
Logica has opened a new innovation centre in Norway. The Innovation Spark Centre in Oslo is the ninth of its kind and will offer customers and suppliers an avenue to explore new ideas together, in an environment that facilitates creativity, dialogue and insight.
The centres, used by thousands of employees, customers and partners in Logica locations all over the world, have been designed to create an innovative sales experience where customers and suppliers can explore new ideas together. The company believes that through collaboration, innovative solutions are found and has seen much success from those currently in operation.
“Innovation must permeate everything we do,” says Gisle M. Eckhoff, managing director, Logica Norway. “It has to dominate both internally and externally. Many employees have good ideas and see the potential for new products and services. It is management’s responsibility to provide a breeding ground for these ideas. We in the consultant industry must display inventiveness if we are to identify tomorrow’s technology,” says Eckhoff. “Innovation does not always manifest itself that easily, so we must take specific measures to create a space for it.”
The main focus of the Oslo Spark Centre will be the utility sector and professional services. The first initiative will be a utility demonstration called ‘Smart 24’, a concept focusing on technology and knowledge within the area of smart metering. The demonstration will look into the ways change can be managed by Norwegian power suppliers as private meters in the country are upgraded to smart meters by 2017.
