Logica wins two Microsoft Partner awards

23 June 2011

London – 23 June 2011: Logica, a leading business and technology service company, today announced that it has won two highly prestigious Microsoft Partner Awards.

Winner: Alliance Partner of the Year — Innovation: Logica Business Consulting

Winner: Windows Azure Platform SI Partner of the Year: Logica Business Consulting

The annual awards honour Microsoft partners for delivering innovative solutions during the past year that directly address client challenges. Microsoft awards were presented in multiple categories, with winners chosen from a set of more than 3,000 entrants worldwide from more than 100 countries. All the winners will be recognised at the Microsoft Worldwide Partner Conference 2011, the company’s premier annual event for industry partners, July 10–14 in Los Angeles. The award finalists and winners were selected from a group of nominations based on their commitment to clients and exemplary use of Microsoft technologies.

Innovation Partner of the Year Award was won for the Logica ‘I am Florence’, a pioneering Public Sector Cloud project, identified amongst the top global Microsoft partners for demonstrating excellence in innovation and implementation of client solutions based on Microsoft technology. The Alliance - Innovation Partner of the Year Award honors a partner who has demonstrated leadership in driving unique and innovative Microsoft-based solutions to enterprise clients in the past year, as well as field engagement and commitment to Microsoft in opportunities including Partner Solution Plans.

Logica and Microsoft joined forces in a unique partnership in January 2011 to offer cloud solutions to clients. Under the agreement, Logica delivers distinctive offerings across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region by utilising Microsoft’s public and private cloud offerings. Clients are able to realise the benefits of cloud services by combining Logica’s business consulting approach and unique industry specific offerings with Microsoft’s Windows Azure platform, Hyper-V Cloud and Microsoft Office 365. These benefits include reduced cost, agility and business growth through collaboration.

"As winner of the Alliance Partner Innovation Award, Logica has showcased successful wins and new solutions which drive client business growth in both private and public cloud scenarios," said Mark Hill, vice president of Enterprise Partners at Microsoft. "As a valued alliance partner, Logica has helped drive thoughtful, innovative solutions over the past year for enterprise customers based on Microsoft technologies."

The Azure SI Partner award was as a result of the excellent project delivered for TalentSoft. It provided TalentSoft customers much greater agility across its product portfolio. Joel Bentolila, Chief Technical Officer, TalentSoft said, “We are already seeing benefits of moving to Microsoft’s Cloud Solution with significant reduction in management costs of the application and reduced deployment time from week to hours.”

Amanda Mesler, CEO Business Consulting, Logica says, “These awards are a great testament to the Logica-Microsoft partnership which evidently is benefitting our mutual clients. Logica and Microsoft have embarked on a journey together to drive proof of concept cloud solutions which are tailored to clients to help them deliver a sustainable business. We look forward to further success together in 2012.”

Today’s announcement extends Logica’s existing relationship with Microsoft, working together systematically to help clients build their business for the future. Logica’s broad set of vertical consulting, systems integration and outsourcing skills complements Microsoft’s business model, and the cloud agreement builds-upon Logica’s well-established solutions using Dynamics ERP and CRM, business productivity tools including SharePoint, and the extensive infrastructure capability.
