About EDF Energy
EDF Energy generates and supplies over 16,500 MW of electricity to industrial, SME and domestic consumers across the UK from a fleet of nuclear, coal, CCGT power stations and renewable sources.
EDF Energy is a subsidiary of French utility giant Electricité de France (EDF).
The Need
EDF Energy needed a world class asset management system at their West Burton plant. They needed a service provider that’d truly partner with them and deliver their asset management strategy just the way EDF Energy envisioned.
The Challenge
EDF Energy’s challenge was to install an IT system that would enable them to run the new West Burton CCGT plant operation as efficiently as possible by implementing a best-practice asset management strategy.
Our Answer
We delivered a single SAP system to support the EAM strategy that the plant manager wanted to put in place. No major compromises, no messy integration, and the right foundation for successful operation. Our solution was based on EDF Energy’s existing SAP platform and is essential for both the commissioning of the power plant and ongoing operations for its full lifecycle.
A Success Story
EDF Energy’s vision for the implementation was that it needed the solution to be EAM Strategy-led not IT-led. They, therefore, needed a systems implementation partner who could not only work with them on a process-led implementation in this way but could help them get there from selection to go-live in the space of 6 months. We did that without sacrificing the quality of the implementation.
We delivered the system on time, within budget (c. £2m) and with a low level of defects.
