Your perfect solution for G3 Payments
The G3 innovation will modernise the payments landscape
and infrastructure for Singapore. Whilst G3 initially focuses on
innovative real-time payment services, it has a much broader
long term scope. G3 is a next generation payment service at
all levels – from its reliance on the new generation of payment
standards, its use of open and agile technical platforms,
security standards, through to the service levels and overall
user experience. As with any other generational leap in the
payment services, G3 presents a challenge to participating
banks and their payment processing infrastructures. Banks
who lead the market are looking beyond the tactical drivers
of any particular scheme or product, and are taking a holistic
approach to solve the generational leap challenge for all
payments. LAPS is a Logica offering targeted at such marketleading
banks.
LAPS works seamlessly with the G3 Common Payment
Gateway in order to deliver an efficient and reliable G3
solution. The provision of clearing connectivity using an
external gateway is a standard LAPS asset, so no functionality
of the G3 Common Payment Gateway is needlessly duplicated
in LAPS.
LAPS supports all G3 messages (most of them are ISO
20022 standard anyway) and provides the complete set
of functionality needed to process G3 inward and outward
payments. It should be noted that G3 introduces a small
number of simple, purpose-designed, XML messages
which are not covered by the ISO 20022 standard. These
messages are used to facilitate and automate some of the G3
administrative and exception flows, like logging-off the bank
for scheduled maintenance, or the automated download of
prepared bank statements. Such non-ISO 20022 messages
are also supported. In summary, LAPS works in concert with
the G3 Common Payment Gateway, in order to support all
G3 message flows and scenarios, providing a complete G3
processing solution.
