As in any other industry, Oil and Gas companies need to pay their people on-time, have effective IT applications and make sure these are supported at world class level. And they often find it useful for these to be run as a managed service from a shared service centre.
They also have sector specific requirements, particularly in the upstream arena where there are a huge number of niche applications available. These all need to be integrated with their other systems, and managed and supported throughout their lifecycles.
