LogicaCMG hosts ‘RFID Solutions Today’ conference
Case studies and seminars demonstrate benefits of RFID in the supply chain at ‘RFID Solutions Today’, De Kuip, Rotterdam on 29 November 2005
LogicaCMG today announced the European ‘RFID Solutions Today’ conference, to be held at De Kuip, Rotterdam, on 29 November 2005.
The conference will focus on the business benefits that can be realised through the deployment of RFID technology and demonstrate end-to-end integration of RFID systems with back end IT infrastructures. In recent years, the retail sector has driven the uptake of RFID technology. However, logistics companies, defence organisations, the pharmaceutical sector and the aviation industry are fast adopting RFID solutions and realising a rapid return on investment. This growing momentum around RFID in the supply chain is influencing the evolution of business processes across industries, clients and suppliers.
The ‘RFID Solutions Today’ conference, organised by Heliview Conferences, will bring together international experts from industry, service providers and technology companies. Topics to be covered in a series of informative seminars and case studies include RFID for location-based warehousing, tagging of returnable transport items (RTI) and RFID in health care. The conference will draw lessons from 1,600 case studies around the world – including a real-time, location-based warehousing system at a new chemical plant for Vos Logistics, a tagging solution for aircraft manufacturer Airbus to track tools all the way from point of origin, and RFID in the health care sector at Utrecht Medical Centre – to provide practical information and advice on systems implementation.
Also at the conference, visitors will be invited to LogicaCMG’s new RFID demo centre, which officially opened on the 14th of September 2005. The centre features the ‘connected enterprise’ with practical implementations of RFID displayed in a virtual manufacturing and supply chain environment, using today’s technology to demonstrate seamless integration of RFID with back office management systems. This is the first European facility to showcase end-to-end integration of RFID technology with SAP business systems, which are deployed by leading organisations worldwide, and demonstrate the results that can be achieved from a fully streamlined, real time supply chain architecture.
‘RFID Solutions Today’ offers free entry to end user organisations and journalists. The conference will be of interest to executives involved in supply chain management, logistics, defence, aviation, packaging and the pharmaceuticals sector.
