Logica announces winners of the Global Innovation Venture Partner Programme

24 March 2009

Appear, Sweden is the global winner and bags the opportunity to partner Logica on a global market strategy

Logica, a leading IT and business services company, today announced that Appear based in Sweden is the winner of the Global Innovation Venture Partner Programme (GIVPP) launched in December 2008.  Appear won the award for their innovative context-aware mobile technology. Context revolutionizes how information is delivered, received and presented on mobile devices. No longer do users need to know what they are looking for. The Appear Context Engine analyses each user’s situation (context) and determines what information the user needs, what applications and services, data, voice or video needs to be delivered in real time, on the job. Appear will work with Logica to develop a joint go-to-market strategy, targeting Logica’s blue chip customer base across the world.

The GIVPP was run across eight major countries – UK, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, France, Netherlands, Portugal and India, with the aim of ensuring real innovation is brought to market in the right way to deliver real business benefits to organisations. Appear won the global winner position after a hard fought battle against other country winners in London.

Global Innovation Venture Partner Programme Award We are honoured to be selected as this year’s recipient of the Global Innovation Venture Partner Programme Award”, says Xavier Aubry, CEO Appear. “Receiving this accolade from Logica, the undisputed leading provider of enterprise IT solutions is a significant milestone for us. We have initially been developing our vision of context-aware mobile services in the travel & transport sector with innovative customers such as Dutch Rail or Paris Subway. Now, with Logica’s support, we can reach out to a wide range of industries such as public sector, healthcare or utilities. Tomorrow, thousands of mobile workers and millions of consumers will be using context-aware mobile services through their day without even realizing it”.
