11 July 2012

Private cloud solution uses Microsoft business productivity software to offer clients in public and private sector government grade security and faster delivery of services

Logica, a leading business and technology service company, has announced a new agreement to offer Microsoft Corp.’s Business Productivity software via Logica’s own private cloud – ‘Logica Local Cloud’. Logica will deliver a cloud-based productivity solution to clients that have unique requirements, such as data sovereignty.

The private cloud solution, to be released initially in the UK, Finland, Sweden and Norway, is aimed at the public and commercial sectors. Logica Local Cloud allows clients to benefit from increased efficiency, and security with regulatory compliance as the services are hosted in Logica’s local data centres. Logica Local Cloud brings together the company’s expertise in cloud and consulting with Microsoft SharePoint Server 2010, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, Windows Server 2008 R2 with Hyper-V, Microsoft System Center 2012 and Microsoft Lync 2010.

"At Logica, cloud innovation is at the top of our agenda” said Amanda Mesler, President, Logica Business Consulting. “Our public sector and commercial clients are looking for opportunities to transform their businesses and save money with innovative communication and collaboration solutions. We are committed to supporting their transformation by providing solutions that meet their needs, whether it is public, private or hybrid cloud."

"Our local presence and highly talented security and Microsoft trained consultants make us the perfect fit to deliver Logica Local Cloud services to public and commercial sectors. Our strength in security means privacy concerns are addressed and our clients can be confident that their information is safe and legally compliant," said Mesler.

"Enterprises and government organisations can benefit from Microsoft’s productivity stack, through the Logica Local Cloud solution,” says Mark Hill, Vice President, Enterprise Partner Group, Microsoft. “Logica’s offering is designed to give customers the flexibility to choose a cloud solution that meets their specialised messaging and collaboration needs, whether in a private, public or hybrid cloud environment."
