Intergraal Beheer Publieke Ruimte (IBOR) is the integral maintenance of Public Sector environment. It is a new innovative way to achieve energy as well as cost savings in areas like street lighting. It is delivered through the cloud for flexibility and lower costs.
IBOR is designed to allow the remote management of public spaces from a central location using the innovative Microsoft Surface 2.0 or the Windows Phone 7. For example, in the event of an accident, emergency services can use the support of traffic lights to guide them to the right location or conduct real-time routing if an unexpected street obstruction occurs. The combination of using Windows Azure, Silverlight, Surface, SQL server and AppFabric ensures a low total cost of ownership, flexibility, scalability and security. It allows our clients to get the benefits out of Logica Azure-based cloud services and get the service on a pay per use basis.
The first pilot of IBOR is to be started at the Municipality of Utrecht to prove that it can help with a 25-40% reduction in energy costs.
Both Logica and Microsoft together won the ICT Office Environment Award for the public space smart control and management system Intergraal Beheer Publieke Ruimte (IBOR).
