EuroCloud congress 2012
On the 8th and 9th of October 2012, the leaders of the European Cloud industry and government gathered in Luxembourg for the annual EuroCloud congress. The two day event provided a place for business leaders and researchers to meet and discuss the growth of cloud and the global impact it has. This followed the European Commission’s announcement to drive government and business productivity by making Europe “cloud active” – with the aim of creating 2.5m new jobs net and an annual boost of €160bn to EU GDP by 2020.
David King CTO Logica, now part of CGI, attended the event and gave a presentation on cloud computing’s role in fixing the economy, and how sharing information in community clouds creates value. Providing real case-studies and valued insight, David refers to the cloud as being the railway of the 21st Century. And we can see why.
