About Logica CiMS
Logica CiMS aims to make charging an electric vehicle as simple as fuelling a regular fuel-based vehicle. The CiMS application is available for use on a mobile phone. Ease and simplicity are the principles that define it. There is a strong focus on driver usability, as the mobile application displays all charging points available and helps the driver select a charge point based on nearness and availability. The mobile application helps the driver navigate to the chosen charge point and acts as the authentication device. Once the charging is done, the user can use his mobile phone to make the payment. Also, the use of standards and open protocols enable maximum freedom for drivers and technical users as well as suppliers of add-on tools.
Logica CiMS is the first charge point management system in the world based on open standards using M2M technology for maximum acceptance and success. It acts as the bridge between the utilities companies/charge point infrastructure providers and the drivers of electric vehicles. It is also the first system in the world, focused on open (mobile) protocols for remote management of the system.
Overall, Logica CiMS can manage remotely a network of 10,000 charging stations, including monitoring transactions and guarantees maximum uptime of the charge stations.
Thinking ahead, Logica CiMS makes it easy for people to adapt greener driving with e-cars. Furthermore, since the application is telecom-based, it provides ease of use, as well as benefits from the ubiquitous nature of the mobile phone.
