Now and beyond: How Scanenergi geared up for a new energy market

"We just went live with the system, but we can already see improvements in our performance, and we expect the service for our customers to improve even more. The manual work has been reduced throughout our organisation, and the automatic way of doing things is being picked up by all of our staff. We look forward to see MECOMS™ bring even more value.” Michael Mikkelsen CEO, Scanenergi

About Scanenergi

Scanenergi is a Danish power trading and energy management company, specialised in energy optimisation. Scanenergi was founded in 1998 as a power trading company. In the last years it has developed into an energy consultancy and into an energy management company that assists its customers in reducing their energy costs.

The Challenge

Scanenergi’s systems could no longer handle the demands of the business or keep up with the rapidly evolving Danish electricity market. Their systems’ lack of scalability and integration had also affected Scanenergi’s ability to prepare for future functionalities like transitioning from AMR to smart metering, or introducing new products to the Danish market.

What Scanenergi needed

Scanenergi’s main goal was to improve customer service.

They wanted a future-proof, flexible system that would alter how they introduced new products to the market, how they enabled higher performance to improve efficiency, how they faced future business functionalities, and how they transitioned from automatic meter reading (AMR) to smart metering.

Our answer

Logica’s proposal stood out because, using a combination of process-knowhow and technologies partnerships, we were able to give Scanenergi exactly the system they had envisioned, localised to Denmark’s market requirements. Our breath and depth of partnerships and own solutions was key.

Key benefits

We helped Scanenergi implement a business solution that would cope with its growth and with a rapidly changing environment. Besides staying ahead in the Danish energy market, they could now:

  • Get ready for transition from AMR to smart metering
  • Gain flexibility and quick go-to-market with new products
  • Provide faster and more reliable customer service
  • Increase efficiency across departments
  • Plan international expansion.
